The DLS-30 Power Converter/Battery Charger from IOTA Engineering converts nominal 108-132 AC voltage to 13.4 DC voltage for both DC load operation and 12V battery charging. Current limit and thermal/overload protection.Designed to withstand low transient AC line voltage.Quickly and efficiently charges batteries.The DLS-30 uses the NEMA 5-15 plug for 15A receptacle (see image provided). The DLS-30 plug type on the AC cord is determined by the input voltage and ratings of this DLS model and/or UL specifications. Over time, as the battery nears its full capacity, the converter will float-charge the battery to prevent self-discharge of its cells. This helps to ensure the longest possible life of the battery. The voltage is set to deliver its maximum current for the necessary period of time that minimizes undue stress to the battery caused by heating of its cells. As a battery charger (you need to purchase the external IQ4 controller or the DLS-30-IQ4 to have this function), the DLS-30 will maintain the battery, delivering its full-rated current when the battery capacity falls sufficiently low. As a power supply, its tightly controlled regulation allows the user to operate any appropriate nominal DC load up to the converter’s rated output current. This unit will draw 6.5AC amps or about 780VA. The DLS-30 battery power converter from IOTA Engineering converts nominal 120V AC voltage to 13.4V DC.
